Hm Christian. I've done some research. Manfrotto has nothing like the
Wimberley flash brackets.

But I found this, and a lot of similar thingies.

Mounting it at the camera is not a good solution when shooting i
portrait oriented. But I,m convinced I've found a solution to mount it
at the lens bracket.

It will lift the flash bracket 11-13 inches above the lens. Will that
do? Or do I need a solution that lifts more? I'm talking about a range
of 20-30m or closer.
My gut feeling tells me that I need to get the flash further away from
lens axis to make a significant difference. What do you think? How
much lift does your bracket give you?
