Hm Christian. I've done some research. Manfrotto has nothing like the
Wimberley flash brackets.
But I found this, and a lot of similar thingies.

Mounting it at the camera is not a good solution when shooting i
portrait oriented. But I,m convinced I've found a solution to mount it
at the lens bracket.
It will lift the flash bracket 11-13 inches above the lens. Will that
do? Or do I need a solution that lifts more? I'm talking about a range
of 20-30m or closer.
My gut feeling tells me that I need to get the flash further away from
lens axis to make a significant difference. What do you think? How
much lift does your bracket give you?
What's interesting is that the Kirk and Wimberley brackets keep the
flash in line with the lens axis. I don't think you need to be off the
axis, you just need it raised above the lens. Back in the day I built
my macro/tele bracket using aluminum strap and bits of small tripod
heads and flash stands. It worked pretty well.
The macro bracket I use is not designed for tele flash but works pretty
well for it. It doesn't put the flash as high up as the tele-brackets
do and is a bit more fiddly with adjustment due to the multiple joints.
