Ann, it only needs to survive for a week hanging for our local county fair. I 
don't care if it lasts longer than that. I would use a mat but I like the flush 
look of mounting directly to black foam core and leaving a narrow white border 
instead. So, any reaction that may occur with a sealer will most likely not be 
an issue in such a short time.
