They provide the compensation:
"... in return for allowing you to photograph during EBC"

That, however, reminds me Tom Sawyer's tactics of painting the
fence (from the famous Mark Twain's book).

The bottom line is that I don't want to go to court or anything like
that. Hence, I am serious considering if I should be going to the
event at all, despite that it's promising to be an interesting event.
