Yep, I had similar problem with moving from Win98 to WinXP (IIRC) and one of the Epson cheaper photo printers some years ago. Perhaps, your and mine experience are indicative of a some kind of general trend in Epson support...
It makes me think they are taking lessons from Adobe. They don't offer much by way of support on products that they've moved past either. Think how fast they stop upgrading camera raw once they come out with a new Photoshop.
