This time next year there will be at least one full-frame camera
available for around $1600.00 US. I expect a Pentax full-frame to be
at least announced, if not available, by then.
The 55mm f/1.4 will make a nice normal lens for it :)
I'm sure it will, but in the meantime, are they planning on
orphaning APS-C or supporting it?
If the latter, a standard lens would be nice....
Pentax is way to heavily invested in APS-C to orphan it. Canon and
Nikon both support less-than-full-frame formats aggressively. I'm sure
Pentax will do the same. Consumers are still gobbling up APS-C DSLRs.
Among the masses, DSLR is the magic word, not full frame. That won't
change as long as it remains the dominant format, and based on recent
entries from Canon and Nikon, it will remain the dominant format.
Remember, that last year many here predicted that the new Pentax
camera to be released this year would be FF. Some hinted at inside
information. I still think the only pro level camera from Pentax will
be a 645. That's the only roadmap that makes financial sense.
