Don't bet on it. Pentax won't be competing in the diminutive full-
frame pro market. They are way too far behind the curve in the lens
lineup, and they don't have the financial horsepower of Sony. There
will always be buyers for high-end APS-C, and Pentax will remain a
viable player in that market.

Given that the A850 costs essentially the same as high-end APS-C and
offers APS-C level pixel density (11MP when cropped down to APS-C),
the market is changing rapidly. I expect to see a market for the
really high-end APS-C cameras to remain (IE the 7D and D300s) because
they offer an unbeatable speed/price mix. But things are more
interesting at the 50D/K-7 level, especially since it looks likely
that Sony's coming A700 replacement(The A800) will be ~5fps FF for K-7
money. At that level, the K-7's only advantages are going to be
sealing and size (And at least the K-7 will have advantages, the Canon
50D is right screwed).
That makes sense. I could be very happy with a FF camera that sold for
the price of a K7 and still gave me 11 megapixels or so with my DA*
lenses.
