Gee it's just a remote that is available at most radio shacks etc, instead of Infra red like most remotes ( and limited to line of sight ) it uses radio and then to an IR universal remote in the room where the stereo is. My guess is you won't want infa red anywhere in the dark room and many cd players have little lights you can't turn off. It's range is limited but it might make it up stairs, it will work with just about anything that will work with a universal remote ( manybe even the BG10 grip ). Or Shel are you just pulling my leg again.
