Shel,

The RF remote will not put music in your dark room... it only allows you to
control your stereo from another room. That's assuming your stereo has a
remote control feature to begin with. If it doesn't... if it's strictly
turn-the-knob manual, then RF remote won't work. In that case, just load
up enough music to last all day and press play.

To get the tunes from your amp to the speakers in your dark room, you will
need to string wires or invest in wireless speakers. The wireless speakers
use a small radio transmitter that's placed near the amp and wire to it like
another set of speakers. But instead of playing sound, the broadcast a
short range radio signal to a set of speakers. The speakers have a built
in receiver/amp and can be placed anywhere within the broadcast range of the
transmitter. They just have to be plugged into a wall outlet to power the
receiver.

Another option is similar to the wireless speakers above, except that the
"transmitter" plugs into the home's electrical wiring and outputs a music
signal into it. Then special speakers can be plugged into any power outlet
in the house to play the music.

Neither the radio/wireless speakers nor the ones that piggy-back on the
house wiring produce audiophile quality sound. But they do make it easy to
scatter speakers around the house... even outdoors.

Places like Best Buy and Circuit City may not be able to help you. Even if
they have it, they just sell it and push you out the door. Your on your
own, and this doesn't sound like it's your bag. However, most larger
communities have high-end audio specialists who can install anything you
want. Just tell them where you want it.
