Kenneth Waller =========== Thanks. I think when the camera is on extended center pole a lot of the purpose of the tripod is gone, and it's not as stable. But until recently I hadn't thought about it much (think I started thinking about it more at Yosemite when I was looking at others' tripods), so you've confirmed my feeling. Thanks all, including ecke, for the input! Marnie aka Doe :-) Hmmm, that sounds funny, not the way I meant it. --------------------------------------------- We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
