I have a Slik pro 804 carbon fiber tripod with a Bogen 8047 three-way head. The Bogen head is fairly stout, probably weighs around three pounds, but it's very solid and has bubble levels. The Slik tripods aren't the equal of Gitzos, but they're very light, sturdy and the legs lock well. The center column leaves much to be desired, but I rarely raise it. The Bogen head can sometimes be found on ebay. I found one today that's at $90 with a little more than an hour to go: http://cgi.ebay.com/Bogen-Manfrotto-3047-pan-tilt-head_W0QQitemZ120509524348QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1c0eed697c#ht_500wt_1088 Paul On Dec 23, 2009, at 3:36 PM, [email protected] wrote:
