well, depends, it sounds like the card's contact panel is structurally damaged. I doubt power from a camera would be sufficient to fry the chip inside the card. on the other hand, if a camera doesn't power up with it, there is probably something shorted out. I am sure data recovery people such as kroll ontrack could get the data off the card so your wallet holds the answer. I doubt you could do it yourself because chip and contact panel are glued together without coming apart as a design option.
