I started with a Zenit E in 1982. We never really went far and neither did my photography.
In 1993, I was on a shopping spree in Guildford and saw a P30 with 35-80 lens anf AF260 flash second hand for about 150. I had an immediate and uncontrollable desire to buy it for some reason, and let that desire follow its course. I then added a second hand Vivitar 70-200 with 2*TC and eventually a 500mm mirror lens. We had some nice times, but I was too busy partying to do much serious photography. About 2 years ago, we had a baby boy and I started taking soo many photographs that I started to want better results. I finally had a hankering for AF, having shunned it for many years. I read a review for what was then the new MZ-30, and thought it sounded fantastic. I thought it would be great to buy a new camera which could still use my old telephoto lenses. Little did I know that I would immediately want a 70-300 in AF. Then I found the PDML, and then that most of my old lenses were pups. By this time I was tied in to Pentax, but the more I opened my eyes the more I realised that this was a good thing as moany of the lenses were fantastic, and I now have the MZ-S and 6 AF lenses. No way I am going anywhere else but Pentax now. The only reason for doing so would be digital, but I still dont rate the offerings, and I really dont want to replace all my glass. > >Why do you choose or stay in Pentax? Why not N, C or M? > >My answer is simple! I want the quality of Pentax lenses. > >How about you? - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
