Ain't that a shame ... is this progress?  In 1967, when I bought my
first Spotmatic, it was fitted with a 50/1.4, which, I believe, was the
standard lens on that particular model.

But, even in these days of s-l-o-w lenses, an f/2.0 isn't particularly
fast, except by comparison.
