Thanks, Larry!
I'm really anxious to get the thing "out in the field" and to see what
kind of bokeh it produces at f/2. I'm also curious to see how my
Takumar 135-2.5 will behave on the K1000. I also have a Promaster
70-300/4-5.6 with an aperture ring that I'd like to try on the K1000 as
well. I know the autofocus won't work, but I can't help being curious
as to how modern lenses will perform on the old film bodies.
I just wish I'd had the M-50/2 on Thanksgiving, when the whole famn
damily was around. Ah, well ... there's still Christmas. And, of
course, Christmas parties and New Year's Eve. And Festivus!

Congratulations! I think that lens will work very well for you. Since the K-x
makes f/2.8 usable, the extra stop you'll get from f/2 is even better.
Eventually maybe you'll find a free/cheap 50/1.4 supertak that you can use wide
open when you need that extra stop.
I think you'll also find that your new lens is very good for portraits,
especially group portraits.
