You win!

I watched the vid - found him to be more sincere and not as egocentric as the "Wow" comment he made made him appear.. and he was somewhat engaging. The people she worked for as a nanny that were interviewed I found a bit off-putting and snobby.

But I don't think my paraphrase " Is this stuff worth anything" is that much different in spirit than " is this type of work worthy of exhibitions"

Also interesting is the selections in the Times article were all wonderfully strong -- where as the ones in the vid are not all quite so compelling.

bodies of work like this come up often? Any direction would be

Note: The question, which is quoted accurately, was not, "Is this stuff worth anything?"
which is itself open to interpretation, but "Is this type of work worthy of exhibitions?"
Quite a different question.

Watching a segment recently on
WTTW
<http://www.wttw.com/main.taf?p=42,8,80&pid=A1hO97qcWo7ViDL_rWniVH2LakYxNa7J>
about the discovery of Ms. Maiers work, he found himself in tears.
He recalled thinking: Wow! This is about something that I did."

I just watched the video again -- third time, at least: This is not an accurate quote. What he says is, "I can't believe I'm doing this." In the context of the interview it's clear what he's referring to: It's to what he is doing: Scanning negatives, developing film, bringing the work to the attention of others, consulting with knowledgeable people, responding to requests for exhibitions, seeking exhibitions, etc., etc.
I think it's cool that someone who didn't train for this kind of work, who
until he encountered her work had no interest in photography, has nevertheless
fallen into it, and as near as I can tell, doing a thoroughly commendable job.

Still just my two cents.
