you can do it for free ... Apple's iCal can sync to Google Calendar without any add-ons, much less a paid service; i did it for a year or so when working at a firm that used Google Apps extensively; i'm not syncing now, so i can't look at my setup to describe it, but this seems like it will tell you what you want; it covers Address Book too, which i did not do:
