The one thing that comes to mind is the difference in hauling all that gas around vs. the lighter car with a half empty tank. Only in an earthquake or other national disaster would you be in trouble if you only kept 4 or 5 gallons in the tank and put another 3 gals in every other day. Or whatever amount works out with your consumption and daily miles driven. This goes along with what "the experts" say, to keep all un-needed items out of your car rather than hauling them around year after year (I'm guilty). And to up your tire pressure to recommended, or 2 pounds over recommended, to reduced the rolling resistance of the car.
