CV is now improving their bodies. There seems to be a good, long-term
marketing plan going on, with frequent incremental upgrades in quality
and features, and the company seems to listen to what customers want.

Also, CV is much more a system camera than the Konica. There are
numerous accessories available for the CV cameras, from finders to
meters to a plethora of lenses. And, the thing that's really nice is
that, for the most part, these accessories work on Leicas, Konicas, and
other older and obsolete RF bodies.

The CV was produced in such a way as to be first be an entry-level
camera, and, step by step, they've been upgrading and adding lenses and
accessories that are compatible over a wide range of platforms. For
example, there have been problems with Leica lens compatibility on the
Konica Hexar RF. Such is not the case with the CV. In fact, the
cameras are designed in such a way as to make better use of older Leica
lenses than even Leica has done on the M models.

The CV is a system in its infancy, but it is a strong player in its
chosen market. The Konica is limited in many ways, although I'll grant
that the body is better than earlier CV offerings. Yet, it's the CV
products that are being purchased by Leicaphiles and neophytes alike
while the Konicas sit on the shelves. Why? Because the product is
better suited to the market and the needs of the consumer base. And, I
believe it would be successful even if it were Joe Bob's Rangefinder
Kamera Kumpany ... although the Voigtlander name may have helped.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
