Not sure what you're worried about.

Aperture is kind-of iPhoto on steroids and does a great job once
you've learned it. It's available from the App Store for $80 so it's
not like it's terribly expensive (the download from the website or the
retail package are a lot more expensive, for what reason I don't
know). It's a pro-app so it's much deeper than it appears at first
glance. However it's still pretty easy to learn and use.

I have and use Aperture but mostly for the book module and integration
with other Apple apps like Pages, FCE, Keynote, etc. I prefer
Lightroom 3 for image processing my work.
