Nothing wrong with old and stubborn.... I have a similar two step approach but I use Studioline as an image manger and then open specific images in ACR/Photoshop for further work. Maybe it's not the most efficient approach but it works for me. I tried Lightroom early on but I like having access to Photoshop's layers and masks when needed.
