from my reading, i gather that LR has a wider range of built-in filters and especially impresses people more with its noise filters; those are what i feel i might be missing using Aperture, but they frankly aren't crucial to me -- i pretty much work hard on exposure and rendering, and sometimes crop and tilt; plus i tag and group and search; Aperture has those well covered

speed is also an issue in my workflow, but i doubt LR would be hugely faster; if it were, it might be worth switching for me
