The more expensive of those two is a 'silent wave' motor lens, is it not? Does that not account for the pricing difference? You said that the IF was the reason for the price difference and that if Pentax dropped the IF on their 80-200 f2.8 it could also be cheaper. I would suggest that the silent wave motor in the lens is more expensive than IF. I do agree that Pentax should consider offering a non-power zoom version of their 80-200 f2.8. > And before responding negatively read Pals e-mail below he summed up > what I was > trying to say. You didn't ask for a "slight update", you asked for the drive speed to be tripled and the flash sync increased. Then it was pointed out that if Nikon does not think that they will make any money on an upgraded F5, why should Pentax think any differently? Do you think that Nikon are stupid and are missing out on a boatload of business by not continuing to develop the F5? Or do you accept that they know their market and are not spending more money on it because it will not generate more money for them? -Aaron I woke up in a Soho doorway A policeman knew my name He said "You can go sleep at home tonight If you can get up and walk away" I staggered back to the underground And the breeze blew back my hair I remember throwin' punches around And preachin' from my chair - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
