One theory I've seen is that it's aimed at the lomography types. That work fit the odd combo of quality build (magnesium body) and low performance parts (small sensor and toy lenses). Given the high emphasis on carrying the camera everywhere, the size is critical. Maybe the key chain idea might be real suggestion? The price could also drop quickly if it doesn't sell.
