I resolved to buy the one which would come first. I missed a good
opportunity to buy Sigma and ended up with Pentax instead. Sigma seems
like a bit of a rare beast on the second hand market.

I looked up the stats on my LR recently. This year (2011) about 40% of
my shots were made with zoom (Sigma 24-60/2.8). Most of them were
Galia's class events and some local travel where I opted to take the
zoom so as not to have to change lenses outdoors, which as you know
very well, is not very desirable in our climate zone.

I can relate to that.

Well, I can tell you already that for comfortable shooting with this
lens I absolutely have to attach a grip to my K-5. Now, compare that
with (grip-less) K-5 and FA 43 and you will see that I am not going to
forget the primes even for a brief moment.
