> So what are the best arguments in favor of the MZ-S?

I find one of best features of MZ-S is separate AF button. I'm surprised
that it is so seldom pointed out. I set AF activation on separate AF
button only while leaving exposure metering on shutter release button.
I love this setup. Simply it puts the photographer in total control of
focus. After few days of familiarizing with new setup I really started to
appreciate it. No need to keep shutter release halfway down anymore.
When focus needs to be changed simple push on AF button does it
with no fear exposure or anything else will change. It is easy to
prefocus and then wait for the right moment to fire the shutter while still
being in AF mode if needed. It can feel just like handling a manual
focus camera it I want to.

I remember having problems while I was looking for windsurfing shots
with my MZ-3. It followed a surfer easily until I took a shot but then AF
started hunting for focus again because there was only the see in the
area covered by AF sensor since the surfer jumped into the air. The
result was I could not shot another frame. I had to move to manual
focus to solve that. No such problem with MZ-S and separate AF button
because it doesn't focus if you don't press the button.
