A Contax Aria will set you back around 900 euro; an RX, 1400 euro; and 
if you feel the need, an RTS III is 2600 euro. All prices are body only. 
The MZ-S can be had for just under 1000 euro.

Interestingly enough, the UK magazine Amateur Photographer reviewed the 
new Contax NX autofocus N-mount body this month, and at the end, the 
reviewer cited the MZ-S as its main competitor as he felt both were 
aimed at the "serious enthusiast" market. The NX is cheaper, but lacks a 
metal body, data imprinting, multiple exposure, and the ability to 
couple with a Pentax Limited lens ;-)
