There must be something about Tennessee. I had a book delivered, sent
from Holland (Europe), UPS to Scotland (I'm in SE England), then it
went to Nashville Tennessee and it got stuck there for 3 days.
I contacted UPS who said "we're aware of congestion in our Nashville
TN depot and your package will be released within 2 days".
They didn't get the point really - Scotland to Tennessee? Why? After
another couple of calls, they admitted that it's better / cheaper for
them to ship it by adding a few hundred grammes to a flight to
Tennessee and then back to London Heathrow than to send a half empty
truck from Edinburgh to London. I'd never have known if it hadn't got
stuck because of some IT failure...
I think whoever you were talking to at UPS was full of extemporaneous shit.
