Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a market for fun to drive cars

The diesel, although bigger than 1300cc and heavier, gets 60-80mpg(imp)
but the only market for cars like this is outside the USA. Part of this
will be due to the enhanced safety designing causing the door apertures
to be made smaller and therefore making it difficult for larger people
to enter.
What's the price difference between regular gas & diesel? Around here
diesel costs about 20% more than regular gas (according to Gas Buddy
this morning).
Petrol is about 1.36 a litre, diesel 1.40. Servicing is cheaper, too.
I looked at diesel when I was shopping for the car I now have, but none
of the diesel vehicles offered gave enough additional fuel mileage to
offset the diesel price premium.
Plus none of them have any damn interior room, but that's an entirely
different rant.
And another entirely different rant!
Why won't the manufacturers web sites let you see a simple list of
vehicle specs with what's standard and what's optional? All these damn
widgets to "build it", and not a single damn one shows you the
specifications.
