I attended a Ford meeting where the additional cost to get a recent, in
production, Ford diesel to meet those rules cost somewhere around $2000
USD IIRC, - this was for the hardware in the exhaust system, from the
engine outlet ports to the tip of the tailpipe and the requisite
components in that system.


I'm very suprised at that. My understanding is that EU emissions regs are the strictest outside California.
