But --
the diagnoses overall is that I really don't need a new prescription -
cataract surgery probably a year or more down the road, peripheral
vision not too bad. The glaucoma is Open Angle. Have to take
drops two times a day... Trusopt 5ml.

Dan - is that what you take?

Looks like it will cost $45 a month if I get it at K-mart
If anyone knows what Costco would charge it might be worth my joining

that sums up in one sentence why Europe is better than the USA. Over here
someone at your time of life would not pay anything - I was quite shocked to
read that sentence.

Still, I'm glad to hear that things aren't too bad for you.

So am I but the cost pisses me off.

It's worse than that (regarding the money)
I wanted to get my "prescription" for my glasses as they are rather
scratched and the non-glare coating is smudgy... so, while I was
told I didnt need a change to the _prescription_ if the Glaucoma
specialist wrote it out for me she "would ahve to" charge me $75
as it isnt covered by Medicare. So she suggested I go to an eye glass
place and let them read the glasses for me.

I was later thinking that I was entitled to a copy of my files and
I could get it from there - but they might charge me for copies.

sigh.
