There's no *need* to change that: It's perfect for the market segment
the K-01 is targeted at (which ain't us).

Sadly though, take the cutesy signature off the bottom plate and you are left with a mirrorless camera that mounts nothing but K-mount lenses. Sony, Olympus and Panasonic are doing exactly the same thing, except their cameras mount pretty much any lens you care to name. The K-01 isn't targeted at us, it's targeted at people who want something with Mark Newson's name on it. How big a market is that, really?

I can see the conversations now at camera sales desks the world over:
Sales Person: "You can have a Panasonic, it's really quite small and you can mount lenses from any manufacturer on it in addition to Panasonics very good lenses, or you can have this Pentax here. Yeah, it only mounts Pentax lenses, and it looks like some kid was trying to make a grown up camera out of Lego, but flip it over, it's got a designer label, that makes it good"

Customer: "Well, the Panasonic had me sold on it's functionality, but for sure, I just have to have the designer one. It'll look swell sitting on the desk in my den. I'll make it a spot right beside my designer pen and pencil set. I can just imagine how envious my friends are going to be when they see my Mark Newson designed camera."

Sales Person: "Will you be needing a new memory card with this?"

Customer: "Oh, no, as I said, I have the perfect spot for it on my desk beside my designer desk set. Do you think with it's large flat bottom surface that it will make a good paper weight?"
