What's curious is that it doesn't seem to be a replacement for the D700 (moderate but adequate resolution and killer high-ISO capability) but rather an ultra-high-resolution-above-all camera. Not that there's anything wrong with that if it's your game but it does leave D700 owners with nowhere to upgrade to.
