Here's a shot of an old coal oil lantern I took the other day while doing yard work. It's old and rusted and would probably be a decent subject in the hands of someone who's particularly adept at subtle HDR -- which I'm not. So, I figured I'd convert it over to a monochrome and give it a platinum process look, ad some grain and bump the contrast a bit.

For some reason, Flickriver is showing a little .jpg link icon right in the middle of the photos at the moment, so I used the Flickr lightbox display. Here's the normal flickr display for those who don't get along with the lightbox.

Comments, critiques and suggestions welcome. I tend to have a heavy hand with filters and such, so if there's something that I could be doing to improve my images in that respect, please let me know.

Thanks!

Walt
