I think it's a nice-enough image, but I just would like to be able to
bring out more texture. It's just a smidge soft to my eye, so I
overcompensated it seems. Truth be told, I've been trying to make
interesting photos out of this stupid thing for a couple of years now
and just keep failing and failing.
My next idea is to wait 'til the next big storm comes and try to capture
it with some ominous-looking clouds as a backdrop. I'm invested now, so
I'm determined to make something of it come hell or high water.

I really like the subject and this shot. Grain's tricky, Walt. I fear
this grain is too big and is reducing the detail too much. I'm also
seeing a pronounced halo in places, especially at the lamp's bottom
where the rounded base transitions to the background, so I think that
your contrast boost needs to be applied more selectively.
Besides that, very nice!

Comments, critiques and suggestions welcome. I tend to have a heavy hand
with filters and such, so if there's something that I could be doing to
improve my images in that respect, please let me know.
