it depends on what Bruce meant by "paging frenzy" — lack of free space won't
increase the number of page faults, but it make them slower since VM could be
more fragmented and require more seeks
i bought LR3 at the bottom price recently, thinking i'd save slightly on the
upgrade, maybe get a recent-buyers' break on the upgrade, but Adobe's new
pricing scheme breaks me even at $80 upgrade, and there seems to be no
allowance at all for recent buyers
