The upgrade price of $79 was a nice discount (last upgrade was $99). The new price of $169 is an even better discount from the original $299 price. If I was an ANPP member, there's be an additional 15%.
Matthew's info makes it moot for me (looks like my upgrade will be free), but there are probably many who could have saved significantly if they had known, and if waiting were an option for them
