It is not just cameras. Even back when my local KC camera store carried Pentax
gear, they had a love/hate relationship with Pentax. The store owner liked the
cameras but he could never get anything but cameras from Pentax. E.g. I bought
a couple of PZ-1p from him, asked him for alternative focusing screens. He said
that it would take months if ever before Pentax would send him anything like
that. Ditto a number of other "special orders" for screens, battery grips, and
other ancillary accessories for the PZ-1p, MZ-S, *ist-D. And then it got to
where he couldn't even get cameras from Pentax unless he committed to a large
buy. So I switched to Adorama and B&H.
