It looks more like Ricoh is revamping the entire line. The K30 is more
like where the K200D fell in the Pentax lineup from a few years ago.
That means there will be a K-5 replacement. Probably not full frame.
However to stay competitive Pentax will almost have to release a FF
offering, hopefully as compatible as possible with previous K mount
lenses, (my dream the rebirth of the aperture simulator, and automatic
yet overridable automatic cropping with DA lenses, because sometimes you
just want to circular image), and a 645Dn with a higher pixel count and
faster frame rate, (or something else to set it apart from it's
competition, besides cost that is). Ricoh seems to be serious about
Digital imaging and they have deeper pockets, maybe the future is
bright. Then again maybe they'll just start building toy cameras and we
can all become monks...

Eliminating an APS-C upgrade path would be marketing suicide. IMO, a high-end
APS-C is mandatory and more likely than a FF camera.

I think the k30 is the k5 replacement. It's meant to be a enthusiast
camera. So, maybe a new high end FF and a new MILC.

Interesting thoughts in the article.
Makes me anticipate, following the current naming convention ...
I expect 3 new bodies.
K3 to replace K5 -- improved AF & other new features
and
K? FF
and
a FF mirrorless.

Don't lose heart, they might want to cut it out, and they'll want to avoid a
lengthly search.
