I've often wondered about that. Tom is incensed that Pentax doesn't perform up to the level of the competition, and I can certainly understand that, but I don't see the logic of buying adapters that kill any possible performance gain that the new system gives to use the old lenses. AF isn't fast enough, so lets put the lens on a camera via an adapter so that there is no AF doesn't strike me as an especially logical thing to do.
