This is what I prefer http://www.manfrotto.com/automatic-3-section-monopod combined with a normal ball head Push the button and the leg drops to the ground for the perfect height.
I also have a trekpod http://www.trek-tech.com/products/trekpods.html which is advertised as a perfect walking stick.
