What photos are you losing because your gear isn't performing well enough, or

Poor autofocus? Can't use the flash in the rain? Don't have enough resolution
to make wall sized prints?

Unreliable AF with my studio lights is a huge problem. The AF on my K5 is only predictable in that it is unpredictable, and if I am lucky, I get a 30% hit rate with the AF. The workaround is to use LiveView and contrast detect AF. One of the last weddings I shot with my K7, the camera was giving me a focus lock confirmation, but the damned thing just sat there like a lump refusing to take a picture while the bride was being handed off to the groom by her father. As I consider this to be one of the "important" pictures, I was somewhat pissed off by this failure. This was under florescent lights. The workaround for this was to either retire from the wedding game or buy a Nikon specifically for wedding work. I chose retirement. Were I still in the photography game for money, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell I would be trying to do it with Pentax at this point. The cameras just don't work well enough to be considered pro grade, which is too bad, because I still like Pentax glass the best (I am however, quite prepared to show Fuji glass some love).
