Have to disagree with you, Bipin, on coffee in Europe. After many visits to
France, where 'un café'
was my drink of choice, and in Italy in 2011 ('un espresso' or 'un picolo') I
found excellent coffee
everywhere (except at Charles de Gaulle airport at two in the morning - bitter
and weak). I came
to understand that, in Italy at least, the coffee is made at the correct
temperature of 97C, rather
than with water which is still boiling, and that one is expected to drink it
quickly and then go on
about one's daily business! So too hot both spoils the flavour and prevents
your rushing on to the
next thing to do...
At home we use Italian imported coffee, which gives a full flavour caffeine
hit! However, I am told
that one of the finest, but least known coffees is grown on the Island of St.
Helena ( the one in
the South Atlantic, not the Californian namesake): although I once lived there,
at the time the
coffee plantation was inoperative, so I never got to try it. I now have some
on order from the UK,
so it will be interesting to check it out.

Yep, that makes the best coffee in the world - but I hope it isn't Instant
Coffee - yuk! Here is how
I make my coffee in Bangalore:- I go to the Coffee Stores and ask him for
Peaburry Mix - don't like
arabic. He roasts the coffee beans, adds some Chicory, and then grinds it. What
a heavenly aroma
when he is roasting and grinding.
I have an old style copper coffee percolator. Makes the perfect coffee brew.
Either I take it
straight or add hot milk to it and some sugar.
It makes my morning happy and pleasant - a good start for some photography.
Kind Regards.
Bipin - from that far away enchanting land.
PS: While in Europe don't drink coffee. Luke warm water is better.
