If autofocus is neither needed nor desired, there are several well-built third-party choices from the good ol' days; some are PKAs:
Vivitar 24-70 (f/3.8?) Kiron 28-70 f/3.5-4.5 Vivitar 28-90 (f/2.8-3.5) Rikenon 28-100 f/4 Vivitar Series 1 28-105/2.8-3.8 Kiron 28-105 (f/3.5-4.5?) Rikenon 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 Vivitar 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 Most have a modest macro capability, although sometimes at the short end. Some reportedly have problems with vignetting, pincushioning, or flare, but that could be said of most zooms in this range. I have collected comments on most of these. If anyone has experience with one of the Ricoh's, I'd be interested.
