Great subject choice as always (even the cat). I looked at the exif and it appears that you didn't tell the K-5 the focal length of your manual lens & that might make a difference to the SR.

I have not used many manual focus lenses on my K-5. For me they work better on K-1 because it allows focus peaking but then I still have my cataracts.

I went out this evening near dusk for these - it just started to rain.
I wanted to check out the K-5 with a manual lens... if only I could
focus faster I'd have had a lot more respectable shots..

The lens was the smc Pentax-A 50mm f1.4 that I've had since the early
80's.  It seems to me there is lots more light coming into the good ole
manual than the DA 18-55.
