I found the 12mm end plenty wide myself. I never really wanted to go
wider. Its hard to compose that wide all the time. 15-18mm was
actually a bit more useful overall, but in the end I found myself
constantly at either 12mm, 18mm, or 24mm. I guess that means I should
probably just buy primes in those ranges. Too bad there isn't a 12mm
rectilinear prime for pentax. 18mm is also a hard to find focal length
and is usually fishy on older FF lenses. don't get me started on
finding a fairly good and cheap 24mm, though I do really want one. If
this tokina is any good it would cover a huge amount of my range. I'm
quite used to shooting at 28mm all the time. My M28/3.5 rarely left
the camera till the blades started sticking. Throw in a 35-105 and I
would be pretty set. I'd like to get a 15ltd one day, but even that
lens isn't ultra-wide really. My next wide angle is probably going to
be the samyang 8mm fisheye. Don't they make a nice 24mm too? Hmmmm.
