I just went through this game myself, converting from RC2 to arca-swiss. I ended up going with an Induro BH3, figuring that the top of the line Induro may not be as good as the top of the line Arca-swiss, RRS etc. but the $200 Induro is probably better than the $200 Arca-swiss etc. Overall, I'm pleased with it. It is a huge improvement in performance over my previous tripod mounts. There are several systems out there that are compatible with both arca-swiss and RC2. I like this concept because if I'm out shooting with friends, and need to borrow a tripod, I have a lot better chance of it fitting. I got the Custom SRC mini. One of their larger ones interfered with the battery door on the K-5. http://www.customslr.com/products/m-plate-mini https://peakdesignltd.com/plates/ I was also able to find an inexpensive arca-swiss clamp plate and replace the RC2 clamp plate on the head that I use on my monopod. I wasn't looking for maximum stability there, and it made it easier to have the same mount system on my monopod and my tripod. I think I posted some reviews and details, so a search of the archives might find them. -- Larry Colen [email protected] http://red4est.com/lrc -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
