Hi Mark,
I has a Z1p and sold it only because I really wanted manual focus and
did not use the auto focus. This was my way of going retro - back to the
spottie days.
I shot both slide and negative films and did not have the problems
listed. The slide films were always Kodochrome where I have always rated
them 32 and 80. Never did I have any that were way out.
Popular Photography had praised the metering system of both the original
Z1 and the later Z1p. The indicated that the metering performance in back
lite situations, that onboard meter did a better job than any of their
guesses. Another thing they noted that the evaluative metering was always
better than manual metering. I would take that as full 1 stop shutter speed
settings rather than variable.
