I went for neither, but picked up the "Made in Japan" version of the Tamron 17-50 for $ 425 brand new. This lens is brutally sharp. I had to dial in +4 as my K-5 + the Tammy was back focusing. It is spot on the K20D though. Expensive may not always be true unless one insists on going Ricoh/Pentax all the way. Regards. Bipin. camp: Thornhill, Ontario.
