That seems to depend.
I hadn't ridden my Super Course in two years but when I went pump it
up last week there was still air in the tires. It has Presta valves.
It usually needs topping up every month or two.
My Raleigh C40 (schrader valves) was flat after two years. I pumped
them up a few weeks ago but when I went to ride it the front tire was
flat. Took it apart and the tube was shredded. I don't know when it
exploded, because I didn't hear anything. That one usually holds air
better than the Super Course.
My wife is in the same mode as you. This year her tires go flat every
few days, but no one can find a leak in them. Usually they need
topping up every few months as well (Prestas). I suspect a leaky
valve.

Along similar lines I'm wondering how often bike riding list members
have to inflate their tires. I have a few year old Trek with tires
that need reinflating every few days.
Don't remember having this issue with my last bike, a 24 year old
Cannondale or way back when I was growing up.
